SnapSolve
Homework, explained step by step.
SnapSolve turns a photo of a homework question into a clear, step-by-step explanation. Point your camera at a problem — the app reads it on-device with Apple's text recognition, and simple arithmetic is even solved fully offline; anything more involved is sent to a third-party AI service for a worked solution. It spans seven subjects, from math and physics to history and economics, with a Smart mode that detects the subject for you, plus a Study mode that turns your notes into study guides, flashcards, and practice tests. Ask follow-up questions on any answer, use the built-in scientific calculator, and keep a searchable solution history — privately on your device, with no account and no sign-in.
Highlights
Snap & solve, step by step
Photograph any homework problem and get a clear, worked AI solution across seven subjects — math, physics, chemistry, biology, history, literature, and economics — with a Smart mode that auto-detects the subject. Text is read on-device first, and simple arithmetic is solved fully offline.
Study mode: guides, flashcards & tests
Turn photos of your notes or textbook pages into AI-generated study guides, flashcards, and practice tests — multiple-choice, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank — to revise and quiz yourself.
Follow-up chat, tools & private history
Ask follow-up questions on any solution in a chat-style Q&A, use the built-in scientific calculator and unit converter, and browse your searchable solution history kept privately on your device — all in 13 languages, with no account required.
What it collects
Homework photos & extracted text
To generate a solution, the problem photo (as a compressed JPEG) and the on-device OCR text are sent to a third-party AI service. Only a small (~200px) thumbnail is kept locally in your solution history; the full-resolution photo is not persisted. Simple arithmetic is solved on-device without any upload.
Solution history & app preferences
Your question/solution history (text, subject, date, and a thumbnail), language preference, and settings are stored only on your device (capped at 200 items) and are never uploaded. There is no user account, and history is not synced across devices.
Subscription & purchase data
Purchase transactions and receipts are handled by Apple and a third-party subscription service for validation and premium-entitlement tracking, tied to your Apple ID and an anonymous device profile — not to any in-app account.
No account / anonymous use
The app has no sign-in, registration, email, or password. No name or personal identity is collected. All core data is device-local; identity exists only at the Apple ID (billing) and anonymous subscription-profile level.
Built with
- Third-party AI vision service — Reads the photographed problem and generates the step-by-step solution, study guides, flashcards, practice tests, and automatic subject detection. The photo and the text read from it are processed by this external service.
- Subscription & billing (Apple) — Apple's in-app purchase system processes the auto-renewing subscriptions and provides local entitlement verification. Payments are charged to your Apple ID; we never receive or store your card details.
- Subscription & paywall service — Manages the premium paywall, purchase flow, receipt validation, and premium entitlement state through an anonymous, device-level profile — not linked to any app account.
